What types of events do you hold at The Retreat?
The Retreat hosts all kinds of events, from Weekend & Destination Weddings, Corporate business meetings, public service groups, and family/social events. We can accommodate groups of 10 (minimum) to 250. Larger groups are welcome with the additional rental of a tent for dining.
Can I book a single cabin for myself and/or family?
Yes, but only during our Signature Events. Please check our upcoming events to see what will be open to the public for individual reservations. At this time, The Retreat does not take individual reservations for single cabins. All cabin reservations must be part of a group rental.
Why don’t you hold any events during the summer?
The summertime is a special time of year, in which The Retreat undergoes a complete transformation! All of our cabins, meeting spaces, and activity areas are converted to accommodate an exciting, overnight summer camp for kids ages 7-17. We are always looking for wonderful counselors and leadership team members ages 18 and above, to supervise and mentor young minds. For more information on our summer camp, please visit our Camp Balcones Springs website.
Why do I see an 18% Retreat Fee on my invoice?
An 18% Retreat Fee is built into the pricing of all services to cover the costs of maintaining and providing each guest with complimentary amenities such as Rural Wi-Fi, non-facilitated activities and sports equipment, miles of hiking trails, 24/7 beverages, and Fitness Center complete with a yoga deck and infrared sauna. The Retreat Fee is built into the total cost of your stay, unless otherwise noted.
I just landed at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Can I get a Retreat shuttle?
Shuttles are available, but must be arranged with The Retreat at least 2 weeks in advance of your arrival. For day-of shuttle services, guests have the option to rent a vehicle, take a cab, Uber, or contract a private shuttle service. Please contact your event’s Coordinator to confirm shuttle services and pricing through The Retreat.
What activities can I expect to do during my stay?
All unfacilitated activities are available to all guests throughout their stay. These activities include basketball, tennis, Frisbee golf, sand volleyball, fishing, hiking, kayaking, and more! Facilitated activities are those that require staff to set up, run, and supervise- such as zip line, horseback riding, skeet shooting, rock climbing, archery, swimming, and high ropes. Staff-led activities must be booked through your event’s Coordinator at least two weeks in advance, for scheduling purposes. Requests made within two weeks of an event, or during an event, may not be possible.
What is the cancellation fee for Weddings?
Guests of weddings being held at The Retreat will pay in full for their cabin 7 days before check-in. A partial refund may still be given until 48 hours prior to check in. No refund is given for cabin reservations that have been cancelled within 48 hours of arrival. If you need to cancel or change your reservation, please contact The Retreat.
Can I bring my dog with me to The Retreat?
Rules may vary from group to group, and some events may choose to be pet-free at their discretion. However, for the groups that choose to allow it, we are dog-friendly. There is a refundable pet deposit of $100, and a nightly pet fee (non-refundable) of $25. There are no breed or size restrictions, however any pet displaying aggression towards guests or other animals will be asked to leave the property immediately. Nuisance activity such as constant barking, “pottying” indoors, destroying property, or stealing food will be addressed and may result in being asked to leave the property. Owners are encouraged to keep their pets leashed for the safety and security of their pets, and kenneling animals that are to be left alone unsupervised in cabins is preferred. All guests of The Retreat should note that there are several friendly and well-behaved “resident” dogs living on property.
