Chuck and Kellie were married on a gorgeous September day in 2016 at the Retreat at Balcones Springs. Friends and family joined from near and far to help the couple ring in the big day.
Having Austin as a central hub makes our Marble Falls property easily accessible after a quick shuttle ride into Texas hill country. Guests arrived on Friday afternoon, enjoying yard games and refreshments on the Grassy Knoll. The celebration began as guests gathered for the Rehearsal, enjoying cocktails, specialty wines, and passed shrimp and grits all before the big Rehearsal Dinner of classic Texas BBQ – smoked brisket, grilled veggies, corn bread, and peach cobbler – YUM! Later that evening, everyone enjoyed s’mores around the bonfire before settling into their cabins for the evening.
Saturday morning, the guests awoke to a homemade American breakfast and were briefed on the many activities they could enjoy that day before the ceremony. The guys went skeet shooting while others swam in the lake, went horseback riding, lounged on the beach, and enjoyed a light lunch. Kellie and her bridesmaids headed off to get ready where they were treated with a mimosa bar.
Before they knew it, it was time for the big ceremony, but not before Chuck and Kellie shared a private first look by the waterfall terrace – a moment their photographer, Kristina Ross, captured perfectly.
The ceremony was flawless. A live string ensemble set the tone beautifully as guests took their seats, family members filed in, and adorable flower girls walked with nervous excitement down the isle. Kellie was absolutely breathtaking and a dry eye was hard to be found as she so gracefully made her way towards Chuck. And just like that – after a lovely ceremony in the pavilion, Chuck and Kellie were married!
The bridal party headed off for photos while guests enjoyed cocktails, passed pork tostadas, and caprese skewers. The couple employed an open seating concept at the reception so that guests could gather and mingle freely as they chose. Two buffets, a plated beef or salmon entree, and two bars kept everyone full, happy, and laughing the night away. They popped champagne, cut cake, and tore up the dance floor to the tunes the Royal Dukes Band before the bride and groom exited through a tunnel of sparklers.
The weekend was nothing short of spectacular, thanks to this lovely couple, their incredible cast of family and friends, the amazing vendors and musicians, and of course our incredible staff at Balcones Springs. Special thanks to Kristina Ross Photography for sharing these breathtaking photos from Chuck and Kellie’s big day.
